1. Parties
This Rental Agreement is between On The Go Recreation Limited ("On The Go Bike"), a company registered in Zanzibar, Tanzania, and the individual renting a bicycle ("Renter") as identified at the time of booking.
2. Rental Period
The rental begins when you unlock the bike using your digital ticket or card tap after payment is confirmed. The rental ends when the bike is returned to the same station and locked. The duration is determined at booking (minimum 1 hour).
3. Pricing
- $3 USD per hour
- $10 USD per day (for rentals of 4 hours or more)
All prices are in USD. We operate a cashless service — payment is made online by card or mobile money (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money) before the bike unlocks. An official tax receipt is issued for every rental.
4. Renter Responsibilities
- The minimum rental age is 12 years. Riders under 12 may ride only with parental consent and supervision. Please note we do not currently provide children's bicycles.
- The renter must wear the helmet provided at all times while riding.
- The bike must not be ridden at night without adequate lighting.
- The renter is responsible for the bike during the rental period.
- The bike must be returned to the same station it was collected from.
- The bike must not be submerged in water or taken off-road on unsuitable terrain.
- The renter must not allow any other person to use the bike during the rental period.
5. Damage and Loss
The renter is liable for any damage to the bicycle caused during the rental period, beyond normal wear and tear. In the event of theft, the renter is responsible for the replacement cost of the bicycle. On The Go Bike reserves the right to charge the renter's payment method for damages or loss.
6. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation more than 24 hours before rental: full refund.
- Cancellation 6–24 hours before rental: 50% refund.
- Cancellation less than 6 hours before rental: no refund.
- No-show: no refund.
7. Limitation of Liability
On The Go Bike is not liable for any injury, accident, loss, or damage sustained by the renter or any third party during the rental period. The renter rides at their own risk. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cycling activities.
8. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Zanzibar.
9. Acceptance
By completing a booking, paying, and unlocking a bike, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Rental Agreement in full.
